Thrifting for a Cause

I recently came across a page on Instagram called Dolcee Vee which is managed by Salt and Scout. This page instantly caught my attention as it included many Indian celebrities’ closets including Shruti Hassan, Anushka Sharma, Deepika Padukone, to name a few. On further research, I discovered that this page sells vintage, thrifted and celebrated donated clothes for charity. A sum of the clothing sale goes straight to their connected charities mentioned below.

They also run a website by the name Dolcee vee wherein you can find varities of clothes from brands, celebrity closets and much more.

Another interesting fact that anyone can sell or donate their personal clothes on this website by following very basic guidelines

Currently, they have an ongoing pop-up sale event with Mrs. Sharmila tagore’s and Mrs. Soha Ali Khan’s designer and branded clothes are on steal deal.

The charities that Dolcee vee is connected with are as follows:

1. Bal Asha Trust - Adoption agency and childrens’ home

2. Jai vakeel foundation - NGO working with Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (PwID)

3. CoExist - This NGO highlights and works towards the issues of animal and ecological welfare.

4. Save our strays - animal welfare NGO

5. SNEHA - They work towards improving preventive and promotive healthcare among marginalized slum communities

6. YouCanFreeUs - A Human rights organization that is fighting modern slavery through advocacy, rescue and rehabilitation of trafficked victims

7. World for all – An animal care and adoption center

8. The Feline Foundation - An animal welfare NGO

9. CRY – (child rights and you) works towards ensuring children's rights

On their Instagram handle, they campaign regularly for donations and keep setting up pop-up charity events. Few of their successful charity campaigns were MTV No fever sale wherein they managed to get clothes from MTV stars Sunny Leone, Shilpa Shetty. Ranvijay Sinha, Tapsee Pannu, Raftaar, Darshan rawal and many more celebs most of whose wardrobes have been sold out!

Another successful campaign was for Australian Bushfires called 'Mi wardrobe is Su wardrobe' in which Dolcee Vee collected charities through putting Sonam Kapoor, Alia bhatt and Priyanka Chopra’s designer wardrobe pieces on sale. All the share going straight up to relief funds.

I am very intrigued with this concept and would surely keep promoting such startups and concepts which are both environment friendly and pocket friendly!

All in all, if you follow a celebrity’s style and would want to steal their wardrobe then what better place than Dolcee vee to find and shop not only theirs but a whole lot of celebrities’ wardrobes, that too at extremely low prices.
