Chikankari in practice is laborious and facilitates hand embroidery performed on the fabrics including cotton, silk, muslin and a lot more.
Chikankari work is available in white and many beautiful colours, dominating this area are the pastel colours (blue, pink, lime, green, grey, lavender) which are soo in trend these days.

But who originated this weaving technique?
Well, this graceful and refined art was introduced by The Mughals.
Back in 17th century, Noor Jahan, the wife of Mughal emperor Jehangir, introduced the Persian art in India. Earlier it was just a white-on-white hand embroidery, now it is available in a variety of colours, variations and designs reflecting the modernity while keeping it simple
