Houndstooth

This print originated in 1800s has been adapted by global brands from Guess to Chanel to Versace, everyone has launched their own way of modifying this print and producing the best outputs.

This pattern started way back in 1800s and was called as Shepherd's check, used to be worn as an outer garment by women.

Originally, Houndstooth wasn’t just printed onto fabric, instead, it was the result of a very technical weaving pattern.

Nowadays, Many designers adjust the details such as the scale, size and color of the pattern to add further dimension and characteristics. This print can be seen making its way not just into clothes but in accessories, bags and shoes as well. Houndstooth is ruling in runway fashion, everyday fashion to even high glam fashion!

Polka Dots

Polka dots have never gone off-trend and are still in the running for top notch runways

Women’s lifestyle magazine Godey's Lady's Book was the first to use the term polka dot in its 1857 issue, with the following description: “Scarf of muslin, for light summer wear, surrounded by a scalloped edge, embroidered in rows of round polka dots.

The print then came into light in 1900s when American used this print for a photoshoot wherein the model was seen wearing a Polka dot swimsuit.

A famous cartoon Mickey mouse also introduced its main character Minnie mouse as wearing Polka dot clothes in pink tied with a bow.

Thereafter, this pattern became a big hit with scarves, ribbons and clothes being designed and women all over the world were seen slipping into Polka dots and how!

This pattern is now widely printed on bags, shoes, accessories, dresses, rugs, wall hangings and what not


Tartan

It is a pattern consisting of criss-crossed horizontal and vertical bands in multiple colors. This pattern started in the Scottish culture and is not only one of Scotland’s greatest icons but also one of the world’s leading national marks of identification.

The 'Ancient' Tartan colors were Red, Green, Yellow, Blue and White but with the modern dyes this print has taken its shape into various vivid colored patterns.

This pattern is widely used for school and college uniforms, for either skater skirts or pleated trousers

Tartan has been widely adopted and can be seen in various ways and shapes with bright combination of colours and sizes.

Camouflage

Much before this print was used to create military uniforms, the fabric was used to hide their equipments, using it as an outer covering. Camouflage's history has been deeply rooted with military and army uniforms and since then it has been in fashion too.

Women are seen sporting this print in dresses, joggers and even makeup. As vibrant and sporty the look and feel of this pattern is, it can be used in many ways to elevate any outfit of yours!

The print has even made a hit in runway shows since early 1900 and many designers turned this pattern into a showstopper garment, in turn increasing its demand and popularity
